Growing up in the 60’s and being the oldest of 5 kids, my memory is of, no, not any of we kids hiding treats, no, it was our mom! Mom had birthed 5 kids in 14 years and, because of all that, was ALWAYS dieting. And, yeah, she would make us kind of participate in this healthy lifestyle BUT my two younger brothers and I figured out that our mom was pulling a con job. She was a chocolate freak and would stash her treasures all over the house. So, once Mom figured out we were on to her, the game was afoot. She got very creative in her hiding spots by hiding those Snickers, Reese Cups and M&M’s in places like book cases, even in bathroom closets under the towels and sometimes in plain sight. It became a family joke in that Mom would bring home treats and hide them just so we would find them. BTW…because she worked so hard raising us and hiding her stash, she did lose weight as well.
